Hydrogen Fuel Station Specialist - Technician - O&M

Hydrogen fueling is changing the world, providing zero emission transportation fuel with a path to 100% renewable transportation energy. Iwatani is a global leader in industrial gasses and hydrogen fueling with 28 hydrogen fueling stations (HFS) located throughout Japan and 4 in California. The base of operations for California is in Santa Clara, and the stations are in West Sacramento, San Ramon, Mountain View and San Juan Capistrano. This position is for our West Sacramento location.

Iwatani is hiring select individuals for our HFS Specialist team and seeking candidates with hands on experience maintaining equipment in the following areas:

⢠Instrument Air
⢠Hydraulic systems
⢠Electric motors
⢠Liquid Hydrogen
⢠Medium Pressure Hydrogen
⢠Cryogenic and/or compressed gases
⢠12 and 24 VDC Electrical Systems
⢠AC Electrical Power Systems
⢠SCADA and PLC control systems
⢠Point of Sale systems

The HFS Specialist must be self-motivated and comfortable working remotely. Typical job duties will include the following:

⢠Hands on equipment maintenance including all of the above categories of equipment.
⢠Hydrogen fuel station specialists will be assigned 1 or more of the station locations
⢠Hydrogen fuel station specialists should be prepared to travel to the assigned HFS daily with less than 1-hour response time. Locations include West Sacramento, San Ramon, Mountain View and San Juan Capistrano California.
⢠Perform daily remote data review to determine operational status and efficiency
⢠Prioritize preventative and corrective maintenance based on site status, and uptime
⢠Communicate and work closely with the Operations Manager and Engineering team regarding corrective actions and/or projects.
⢠Coordinate and communicate with sub- contractors and vendors

Required Skills and Experience

⢠Experience with hands on equipment maintenance
⢠Ability to read, learn and understand Pipe and Instrument Diagrams, Bill of Materials, Electrical Schematics.
⢠Understanding of the correct installation, operation and troubleshooting of various types of high-pressure and cryogenic valves, fittings, transmitters, and related components
⢠Knowledge of, or ability to learn SCADA and PLC systems to remotely control equipment and perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.
⢠Safety leadership, and understanding that safety is the priority
⢠Strong understanding of windows computer operation, email, calendar, Microsoft Office capabilities (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
⢠Excellent communication skills both verbal, and written

Preferred Qualifications

⢠Experience with permit to work and hazardous work permit safety processes
⢠Hands on experience in high pressure gas pipe system construction and maintenance
⢠Experience working around flammable gasses
⢠Experience and training in lock out tag out work process
⢠Experience in leak detection
⢠Experience with high pressure cone and thread fittings and tube bending
⢠Experience using plant historian, PLC data HMI
⢠Military Experience
⢠Associated or Bachelorâs degree in technical field
⢠Knowledge of NFPA 2, SAE J2601-1
⢠Experience in one or more of the following: Military, oil and gas, aerospace, automotive gas stations, or construction
⢠Experience in gas station, fueling systems (JP5, gasoline, diesel, CNG, hydrogen) construction or operations and maintenance
⢠At least 12 months previous related or transferable experience

⢠Valid CA Driverâs License
⢠Ability to work unaccompanied, standing, and without defined break periods
⢠Ability to bend, twist, and lift at least 25 lbs. in narrow spaces
⢠Ability to work in varying outdoor climates
⢠Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
⢠Willingness to work extended shifts as needed
⢠Ability to interact with general public at hydrogen fueling stations and communicate equipment status based on Company policy and procedures
