The Jane Westin Center is open 8:00 am â 12:00 am, 365 days/year

Program Overview:

Located in downtown San Diego, CA, the Jane Westin Center is an adult outpatient walk-in clinic which provides a variety of intervention services to individuals in crisis. We serve individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders.

Our services include initial psychosocial assessments, psychiatric and medication evaluations, crisis intervention and linking clients with ongoing community-based services.

Typical Duties of the Nurse - RN

â¢Assist multidisciplinary team with crisis intervention, psychiatric medical assessments, case management, and medication support services
â¢Monitors clients' response to medications and reports any concerns to medical staff
â¢Ensures that clients and family members are educated and informed about their medications and illness management
â¢Monitors health care needs of the clients and obtains assistance from other health care providers as necessary
â¢Ensures all medications are managed and stored appropriately as defined by local and state regulations

Required Skills and Qualifications

â¢Current California Registered Nurse license and CPR/First Aid certification required and must be maintained throughout employment
â¢Minimum of one year of experience working with a mental health population, especially with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders is strongly preferred
â¢Previous experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric setting; able to assist mentally and physically in emergency situations
â¢Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel
â¢Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential
â¢Ability to pass criminal/background clearance and credentialing review
