Print & Digital Media Designer (part-time)
The Print & Digital Media Designer envisions and executes a range of visual marketing projects for our programs and services, including print and digital ads, signage & banners, marketing collateral pieces. This team member coordinates photo shoots and videography throughout the year for publicity, events, and other marketing campaigns. As an integral part of our Marketing team, the potential for creativity is unlimited. This position is 20 hours per week with room to grow, onsite at our Santa Rosa campus.
â¢ Manage the development, distribution, production, and asset management of all print and digital collateral, including video projects and materials for a variety of events.
â¢ Develop concepts and final materials for campaigns and projects, including, but not limited to, social media and website assets, infographics, animated graphics, email, print collateral (brochures, flyers, posters, postcards, invitations, etc.), digital and print advertising, t-shirts, hats, signage, banners, etc.
â¢ Apply understanding of the "bigger picture" in a creative way, keeping in mind the mission and strategic goals of the department and organization.
â¢ Intuitively integrate brand guidelines and target audiences into visual campaigns.
â¢ A strong capability to select multimedia assets (e.g., imagery, video, illustrations) that accurately reflect and advance our mission and brand and demonstrate awareness of the culture of the shelter/rescue culture and the diversity of our constituents, especially the relationship between people and animals, between animals, and animal emotions and behavior.
â¢ Create branded resources (e.g., letterhead, PPT, and email signature templates) for use by staff and train them on their usage.
â¢ Manage marketing volunteers who are focused on creating photos and videos for social media and beyond.
â¢ Research, evaluate and work with external vendors to ensure the quality and intention for print materials, and digital as needed, while staying on budget and on time.
â¢ Stay abreast of the latest design trends and technology and experiment with how to integrate them into the organization's brand in partnership with team members.
â¢ Manage to budget for assigned projects.
â¢ Perform related duties as required.
â¢ Must be highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator).
â¢ Familiarity with editing WordPress websites and/or a basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
â¢ Track record of creating strong, creative, lively and compelling print and digital media that is reflective of an organizationâs brand, audiences, and subject matter and contributes to organizational goals.
â¢ Experience creating illustrations, infographics, and videos.
â¢ Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities are essential, including use of project management tools.
â¢ Comfort working both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentâpaying keen attention to detail and balancing competing, often tight, deadlines.
â¢ Excellent interpersonal communications skills, including active listening, open to critique of work and effective collaboration skills.
â¢ Can be in contact with animals for purposes of creating marketing assets.
â¢ Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for larger adoption or other organization-wide events.
â¢ Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Office 365.
â¢ Experience coordinating field photography and videography sessions.
â¢ Nonprofit/shelter/rescue experienceâas a volunteer or employee.
Required Experience & Education
â¢ Three to five years relevant professional experience.
â¢ A bachelorâs degree in a relevant field.
