Street Sweeper Operator Lead

The City of Bend is excited to announce recruitment for a full-time Street Sweeper Operator Lead. This opportunity is an FLSA non-exempt (overtime eligible), fully benefit eligible position and is represented by the City of Bend Employee Association (COBEA). This lead position will be assigned to the Sweeper Program within the City of Bend Streets & Operations Department, serving as a model for accomplishing the visions and goals of the Department and City through excellent internal and external customer service, leadership, teamwork, and producing excellent quality results.

This position distinguishes itself from the Street Sweeper Operators because this position requires advanced skills and a high level of experience enabling the ability to perform complex functions and duties in a responsible manner in the absence of supervision. This position acts as a lead providing guidance and direction, assigning daily work, training and instructing lower level staff and may serve in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Supervisor.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in technical and innovative sweeper programs, a positive attitude, excellent work habits, and be able to work in a dynamic environment with minimal direction.

The City of Bend Streets and Operations Department team performs a large variety of tasks that enhance and maintain city streets for vehicles, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. We are looking for innovative, self-motivated and team orientated individuals.
